CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR NEW SUPREME COURT JUDGE.
John Roberts appears uniquely qualified to sort through the landmine of "excuses", personal "baggage" and precedents delivered by bad judges at every level. While Chief Justice Roberts may not always see the law as I would like, he is acclaimed as a brilliant scholar. He certainly proved himself more capable of analyzing and interpeting the law than the Senators whose job it was to confirm him.
It seems to me that those who voted against his confirmation did so solely on political motive. Clearly, they seem to express a greater commitment to political views and advocacy than they do to "law".
If we can "judge the judge" based on what we know, Judge Roberts brings to the Court an understanding of the law together with an intelligence and wisdom beyond his years. That seems to me a mighty good start to good opinion.
